BUSINESS ANALYSIS PROGRAMME
ADVANCE YOUR CAREER
These training modules are drawn from the learning curricula of global management consulting firms, providing the foundation for critical/analytical thinking, problem solving and value creation needed by most functions and disciplines in today’s workplace.

THE ISSUE
Having worked with dozens of business owners and senior managers/executives of some of Nigeria’s most promising start-ups and large companies, one topic has remained constant in our conversations – “finding competent people”. Employers and managers are under constant pressure – exerted by the lack of top talent to perform: critical, analytical thinking; problem solving and value creation functions.
We have met several employers and senior executive performing tasks that otherwise should be executed by their employees or teams hired to do so in the first place. Basic tasks such as proof-reading simple introductory letters/emails, writing proposals/business cases, preparing commercial proposals or even conducting desktop research on an industry or market opportunity assessment – are seen to be performed by senior managers or business owners who sometimes have several employees, lacking the competence. Not to mention: HR, Accounting and even Sales Executives/Managers typically close to decision makers, displaying a lack of strategic thinking to analyse business needs and add significant value. To put it in perspective, as long as employers and managers continue to surround themselves with “manageable” (AKA tolerable) talent, sometimes referred to as “loyal and hard-working” but lacking relevant functional skills – they have inevitably put a ceiling on their companies’ potential to innovate and grow.
Mark Zuckerberg made the point clear in his hiring philosophy above and Netflix made it even more obvious. “In procedural work, the best are 2x better than the average while in creative/inventive work, the best are 10x better than the average…, One outstanding employee gets more done and costs less than two adequate employees” – Netflix Culture Deck.
In summary, huge premiums should be paid on creating effective teams of the best.
OUR SOLUTION – (BAP)
While we know most of the challenges associated with the lack of competent man-power outlined above are fundamental – a by-product of the quality and relevance of the education received for the workplace, we believe a “type of learning intervention” focused on improving the quality of thinking, researching, documentation and execution could make all the difference to employees who are willing and prepared to learn. As strategy consultants, we have seen our consulting skills and functional competences become desirable among most employers and employees we have engaged. Observing this trend, we decided to share this knowledge in a programme we have called BAP – Business Analysts Programme. Essentially, we are facilitating the learning of “consulting-type skills” with employees of companies that desire the capacity that would translate to value within their organisations.
It is common cliché that consulting firms are “recruitment camps” for top organisations with some earning the nick-name “CEO factories” for Fortune 500 companies, that typically hire consultants for top management positions. Consulting firms are reputed to be factories for “knowledge-type” workers.
The point is: what do consultants know and how can their functional expertise, methodology to solving complex business problems, strategic thinking or even great research and documentation skills – be taught to non-career consultants for remarkable improvements in their daily work? This is the core of the BAP programme – designed to equip participants with the most fundamental skill sets for building capacity to apply oneself more effectively to almost any function in today’s competitive and fast changing work environment. We believe, this dose of training intervention will help companies invest in a training programme that would have remarkable impact and results on fundamental aspects of an employee’s ability – thinking and problem solving.
With the programmes customised for several organisations over the last 6 years in various capacities, one feedback has been constant – “outstanding and career transformational”.
WE HAVE 99% APPROVAL RATINGS from participants.
Benefits of BAP to Employers/Companies
- Effectively equips employees with knowledge and skills that facilitate problem solving and value creation – Allowing managers and leaders to focus on strategically steering the organisation and not perpetually trouble-shooting operations or being bugged with mundane operations/tasks
- Employers can consider BAP as part of their induction programmes – To prepare new hires for any role/function in today’s competitive business environment. The modules are arguably ultimate and foundational in nature – critical to SMEs that do not have the capacity to set-up internal training schools for their new hires or invest in several trainings or even hire very senior managers
- Financing Options Available – As an alternative to 100% funding the training, employers can encourage employees to have equity in their own training, after-all the knowledge and skills acquired will always be theirs. Employers can begin with recommending the programme to their existing employees and advising them to take advantage of it. The programme is designed with various flexible time options (weekdays and weekends), with a final evaluation exercise given to participants as a requirement for obtaining a certificate that will be issued by The Metropolitan School of Business and Management (MSBM) United Kingdom
- Unbundle the Courses – In line with the flexible options of the programme, interested participants can pick the modules that best suits their current and immediate needs. They will attend the classes when they are scheduled to hold without missing a topic
- Use BAP as a Recruitment Referral Centre – Employers can sign-up with the Krypton Academy to hire alumni of the BAP programme (internship edition). This can be pre-arranged under special considerations and subject to the availability and fit of candidates for the prospective functions/roles in context.
